Sustainable Tourism at the Tremont

We understand that there is an impact on our environment wherever we are and whatever we do. At the Tremont we try very hard to reduce that impact by putting in place measures to become a considerate tourist business.

The Tremont is a member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, and is one of the few businesses in Penzance to achieve the Gold award.

You may wonder how we achieve this without spoiling your holiday! We buy locally as much produce as is practicably possible.; fruit and vegetables are sourced locally whenever possible.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

There are recycling bags provided outside room 5 for you to use. We also recycle any appropriate waste from rooms too.

We encourage guests to “Stay Local”, there is so much to see in and around Penzance, the Town Trail is a really good way to learn about the history of the town - and its free! The train ride to St Ives is a wonderful experience with no parking problems! The bus to Lands End goes from just down the road showing you the spectacular scenery, standing stones and all the delights that West Cornwall has to offer.

We encourage guests to follow the Countryside Code as it reminds us all to protect, respect but above all enjoy the exceptional qualities that make West Cornwall so special.
